New Camping Trends
![]()
Perhaps due to uncertain economic times camping becomes more and more popular. It offers great vacation opportunities for families at a fraction of the price. These are the trends observed by many of the experts:
1. Staying close to home.
Many families decide not to travel far. It may be related to high fuel prices. Exploring your hometown and the area may offer many unexpected surprises and is cheaper than exotic vacations.
2. Use of camping cabins.
Camping does not have to mean roughing it anymore. Many people are into staying in cabins, yurts and trailes. Glamping also becomes popular.
3. Increase in popularity of RVs among young families.
Statistics say that there are over 1 million RVs on the road in Canada alone., but RVing is no longer just for older people. RVs offer comfort and adventure at a resonable cost. There are many types of RVs in many price ranges. If you are not ready to buy an expensive RV why not rent first?
4. Wireless Internet at many private and government owned parks.
This year Ontario Parks offers Internet at Pinery for the first time.
5. Working from your RV.
Popularity and accessability of wireless Internet alows many people to work from their RVs, at least for some time every year. It makes longer trips possible for many working parents.
