Will Oprah Bring More People Camping

In the past month of October we heard a lot about Oprah Winfrey visiting Yosemite National Park with her best friend Gayle. Her visit was also featured in two parts on her own show.

Her idea of camping was roughing it in a pop-up trailer, which they set up without help, and starting a campfire and cooking food by herself. Good enough. The cameras kept rolling  to capture every moment, which is less normal for most campers, but they had to document the whole thing for the Oprah's Show. No problem.

Will her visit spark interest in camping and bring more visitors to National Parks? Of course what they were really after was bringing more Afrifan-Americans to the Parks, but will this work? I certainly hope so, but we will have to wait till next year to see what really happens.

I must admit that I see more and more people of different races camping in various parks in Canada and having a good time.
