Camping Rocks
These days most weekends means that parents can catch a break while their kids catch up on computer and video games, or worse: television watching. Getting outside, and back into nature is becoming less and less popular in today's technology driven world, and we think it's time to put a stop to that.
Repeat after me: Camping is fun, awesome, and practically free! You can go to a campsite, or head into your backyard if you feel like it, and it's an excuse to get dirty without having to jump in the shower right away. What kids don't love the chance to play in the dirt without repercussions? Camping is a great way for families to bond, and for children to get back into nature, an away from the screen.
Pick a spot for camping that's comfortable for your whole family. Is your backyard a place that's close to home in case you need to run inside? Pitch a tent! Think the campground a few miles away seems like a swell place to call home for a night? Check it out! Branching out from your regular routine is all part of the fun of camping, and when you add nature with smores, and ghost stories, you're in for a night of fun.
Let your kids roam free – let them stay up a bit later than normal, or get them up early to watch the sun rise. Cook over the campfire by roasting your own hot dogs, or smores. Go fishing and dip your toes in the cool of a fresh water creek. Go on a nature walk and try to identify plants, bugs, and flowers you see. Climb a tree! Collect twigs and dried leaves for a fire and remember this: camping is anything BUT boring.
So why do we love camping? It's simple really: nature is free and a great way for families to bond. It's cheaper than a new video game, and it inspires creativity for everyone.

I totally agree!
Kids love it and parents have a few moments to relax by the campfire. Finally!
