How Camping and Family Reunions Go Together

If your family is large, it can be difficult to find an area large enough to accommodate everyone attending a reunion. Then again, not everyone will want to stay in a hotel, as it may be too expensive, and the person hosting the reunion may not have enough room to accomodate everybody. 

However, for a cheap family reunion you may decide to go to a campground and have a camping style family reunion there. It is always a lot of fun.

Here are some things that need to be done before having a camping family reunion:

• Ensure that the area designated for the reunion has the adequate facilities. This means places to use the bathroom. Because so many people will be around, it is good to make sure there is an indoor bathroom or outhouse to use nearby as well as showers and other conviniences such as a store, swimming pool etc..

• Designate an area for each household to camp and have a single area where everyone gets together. This will ensure privacy for each family, but also allow everyone to come together for the fun.

• When making up the invitations to the reunion, it is a good idea to make a list of the camping gear/utensils/gadgets that each family will need to bring.

• Meals will need to be planned. There is a good chance that there will be a lot of cooking out going on. If so, make sure there is a good plan in place so everyone is fed. This may include multiple grills operating and operators taking shifts.

• Go ahead and plan family activities. This is important because everyone wants to know what they are going to be doing. You also want to have plenty for everyone to do.

It is true that a camping family reunion takes more planning, but it is more than worth it and it is cheap too! Everyone will remember a camping trip more than the usual family reunion. It will stand out, so take your time and make it everything you want it to be.
