Toys for Big Boys, RVs, Motor-homes, ATVs, Jet Skis
Toys for Big Boys: RVs, Motor-homes, ATVs, Jet Skis, etc.
For big boys, the ideal camping trip toy is a 5O FT Motor-home pulling a 48FT enclosed car hauler. Inside the car hauler would be 4 ATVs, 2 Harley Davidson’s, and a golf cart. Behind the car hauler would follow a Black Hummer (yes, it’s got to be black or yellow), a 40FT yacht, a fishing boat, 2 jet skis, and a BBQ big enough to cook a whole hog.
The entire train would be about 204 FT long. It’s not even legal in Texas, but you just know some oil tycoon has tried it.
Okay, so this combination is a little far-fetched, but you can get pretty close these days with the lightweight materials and custom-engineered designs. Below are a few exotic things I have seen that you may want to consider. I say exotic, but today, some of these units are commonplace.
The motor-home house-boat combo. Very custom & very expensive, but if you can’t decide between a houseboat and an RV, you can have both; an RV built with slide out pontoons. You just drive it straight down the launch ramp and into the lake. Yes, this actually exists.
Another custom GIANT motor-home I saw one time had a small garage under the floor. The side doors would open up and a teeny tiny car would drive out. This will turn a few heads.
If you are a mere mortal, you can simply pull a small fishing boat behind your RV or truck camper. This is still a nice combination of 2 worlds, camping and boating. When boat shopping, you should consider a “Fish-N-Ski” model. These are hybrids of bass boats and ski-boats and are very versatile.
If you are like me and don’t want to move your RV once it is parked and set up, purchase a double-decker boat trailer car hauler combo. This sounds unusual, but I see these units all the time driving down the road.
In some states, you are actually allowed to pull the train. I frequently see pickup trucks pulling a fifth wheel trailer with a small boat or jet skis in tow behind the trailer. And you thought it was hard to back up your 20 footer; try this on for size.
One time exotic but now common motor-home features are 4 slide-outs, full indoor laundry, and Jacuzzis. And for the outside, a slide-out fridge and wine cooler, power awnings, power steps, power levelling jacks, and an outdoor big-screen TV. Roughing it!!!!!!!
Another very popular design today is a “Toy Hauler”. These are 5th wheels or travel trailers with a separate 10 FT section at the rear for, of course, toys. The entire back wall of the trailer is a ramp door. You can store 2 Hogs inside (iron hogs), 2 ATVs, or a golf cart. Some even double as a screen room. When you can, lay the ramp flat and a screen room snaps into place.
Today, the only limits are your imagination and your pocketbook.
We have come along way from our canvas army tent, haven’t we?

World's Most Expensive RV
Although it may seem outrageous, and beyond the wildest dreams for most of us, such toys exist and obviously there are customers, who buy them.
I have just seen pictures of the world's most expensive RV (at the moment) with a price tag of 2.5 million. With rare Inca marble countertops, Swarovski crystals in the ceiling and a sports car stored under the floor... hey, what else do you need?
