Why RVing is Cool

 Why RVing is Cool:

Camping in an RV offers many more activity options vs. staying in a hotel or worse, just staying home. When you travel in an RV, the list of destinations is endless as is the list of possible activities upon arrival.

Cool Things to Do:

Campfires:
Light a campfire in a hotel, and you may just go to jail. Spark up a flame at the campground, and you will be whisked away to a magical wonderland in your imagination. This may be the only time you enjoy a perfectly toasted marshmallow or a chilli dog. They both seem to taste better when cooked over a campfire.

Cooking Out:
What is more enjoyable than sitting in the lounge chair and flipping the burgers with one hand while holding an ice cold sarsaparilla in the other hand? Maybe the answer is a marinated rib-eye and campground taters.

Hiking:
Most campers wouldn’t think of taking a hike any other time. But when you arrive at your camping destination, you seem to become a different person. You are transformed to a more relaxed being, enjoying life to the fullest. Many campgrounds have hiking trails for all skill levels. If no trails are present, you will find yourself walking on the beach or simply strolling through the park and talking to complete strangers. Campers are a friendly bunch.

Fishing:
I don’t consider myself a fisherman by any stretch of the imagination, but for some unknown reason, I will take the time to wet a line when I’m camping. I have special memories of my girls catching their first fish in the campground pond.

Time Doesn’t Matter:
Do you find yourself always on the go, running wide open 24/7? The phone rings off the hook? There aren’t enough hours in the day? When you travel in an RV, time is not an issue. You wake up whenever, you eat whenever, and you just drift from one enjoyable activity to another.

Sleeping in Your Own Bed:
In a hotel you may be the 365th person to sleep in that bed this year. Ew! An RV, on the other hand, is your home away from home. It’s your own bed, and your own home. You pack it with all of your favourite snacks, food, and drinks. You bring games for the kids and load it down with a stack of new books to read.

My Morning Coffee, Her Morning Tea:
At home, you may never take the time to relish that morning cup of java. You make a quick cup and run out the door; I do the same. When I camp, I’m the first one out of bed. I make a coffee for myself and a tea for my wife and daughter. We head outside, pull up a chair, sit, relax, enjoy the sound of morning nature, and just talk. Talk, what a novel idea.

Glossary of Terms:
Sarsaparilla: A popular soft drink made from the root of the sarsaparilla plant. It is otherwise known as root beer, or in my camping circle, just beer. The original drink was believed to have medicinal properties and was used to treat rheumatism, skin ailments, and edema.
