primitive tent camping...

Hello,
we have always been "adventurers" we like to climb, hike, tent camp. We prefer the primitive camp grounds that usually take a bit to get there, bring your own gear, water and t.p. This season I plan on taking my two teenagers out for a bit of fun and adventure. My husband will come when he can, but for the most part it will be me and the kids.
I loved your comment about camping with teens...perfect as I am deep in it and this will be the first with my daughter (14) and son (11). Ipods or no Ipods, definetley a yes, bow and arrow, yes we don't hunt we just like to shoot, home made slings, yes, ball and gloves yes, badmiton and birdies yes there is always a bald spot somewhere. climbing shoes, yes, boulders anyone? Dog, oh yeaa. We live up in northern California and will be staying within a couple hours radius to home anyone in the area that may have some suggestions just let me know!
