First time camping with baby

Hello.

My name is Pierrette.  My husband and I have a 14 month old boy named, Linus.  We are embarking on our first camping trip with him this weekend, Boulder Mountain, Utah.  We are excited and nervous at the same time.  I was wondering what are people's thoughts regarding keeping the little one warm at night while he sleeps.  The overnight temperature will be about 45 to 50 degrees.  He has a pac-n-play that we may use.  I was thinking of dressing him in a fleece footed sleeper and over that, a thick fleece sleep sac.  I am still concerned that this is not enough.  Any thoughts, advice?

Thank you!

Hello and Welcome Pierrette,

I was always a big fan of baby sleep sacs, camping or not. It is hard to say if this would be enough or not.

What I heard from other moms though was that they kept their baby with them (in their own sleeping bag) during cold nights. Some parents join their sleeping bags by the zippers and keep the baby in the middle, between them. This is something that I would do, but it all depends on how comfortable you are with co-sleeping with your baby/toddler.

Good luck.

I would put baby in a sleeping bag and tie off the bottom so baby doesn't get lost in there and can breath. HAPPY CAMPING!
