Kids' Fears and Camping

I have 2 kids--dd9 and ds6. We love camping. We took a trip with both sets of grandparents and 2 aunts this summer. We just moved back to the USA, and where we were before there was only desert camping--not likely to encounter much wildlife. Camping back in the US is much more beautiful, but has my daughter worried about things like bears. She was very nervous about it before this last trip, and I told her that it was very unlikely that bears would come near the campground.

1st Time Campers

We are having a "girls weekend out" camping trip in a couple of weeks. There are 4 of us going & we are all 1st time campers. We are looking for any helpful advice we can find. We have a tent, however, we have no clue what else to bring. We are going to an actual camp ground where they do have a building with potties and showers. Any helpful advice?

Escape for a Weekend Away With Your Kids

For the past 21 years, I have organized a weekend away for dads and their kids. It has been a very enriching experience, bringing together as many as 700 people and seeing old friendships renewed and new ones established. And, while it represents a great opportunity for fathers to spend some quality time with their kids, many think the real winners are the moms who get what for most is a rare break. I highly recommend that others get involved in – even organize – such an activity.
